Is your marketing like a leaking tap?

One way to look at your business is through the eyes of a plumber. The plumbers job is to get water from A to B without loosing a drop. Your job is to get people that are vaguely interested in your product or service to get their wallet out without the money leaking away to someone else.

Time to question if you have sprung a leak. Do you have a website that gets hits but no sales? Do you collect lots of business cards but never get round to following up? Do you hear about opportunities that sound interesting but then get side tracked by the urgent to do list? Do you get meetings but don't always clinch the deal?

In simple terms, marketing is often about identifying where you get the most prospects leaking away from you and then putting a plan in place to fix the leaks one at a time. It's all very well constantly chasing new prospects but what is the point if you still have holes in the process later down the sales pipeline? Get these niggling leaks fixed first then move on to speaking to new prospects. This is guaranteed a cheaper and more effective way to grow your business - I promise.

The moral of the story is this…

Spend time plugging your leaks and refining your sales and marketing process. Plug the obvious leaks first to convert more people more of the time.

Now then. Where did that spanner go…

Until next time.
